Why Keeping Your Tattoo Appointment Matters – A Friendly Reminder from RTP Tattoo Lab

At RTP Tattoo Lab, we’re all about helping you bring your tattoo vision to life with care, creativity, and professionalism. Whether you’re getting your first tattoo or adding to your collection, we know how much anticipation and excitement go into planning your session. But to make your experience as smooth and successful as possible—for you and for us—it’s crucial to keep your scheduled tattoo appointment and arrive prepared and on time.

Why We Take Cancellations Seriously

Tattooing is more than just art—it’s a time-sensitive service. When clients cancel last minute or don’t show up, it affects not only the artist’s schedule but also takes away time that could have gone to another client waiting to get tattooed. Tattoo artists often spend hours designing custom pieces before your appointment, so when you cancel without notice, that time is lost.

That’s why we have a clear 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment time, your deposit is forfeit—(without a doctors note). Deposits are required to secure your spot and compensate the artist for their time in case of short-notice cancellations.

Preparation Is Key

We want every session at RTP Tattoo Lab to be a success, but that depends on you being prepared to sit well. If you show up:

  • Hungry or dehydrated

  • Under the influence

  • Sunburned

  • With compromised skin in the tattoo area

…then we may not be able to tattoo you safely or effectively.

Coming unprepared can lead to poor healing, longer sessions, and a less-than-ideal tattoo experience. If you’re not physically ready, we reserve the right to reschedule the appointment—and yes, you may lose your deposit.

Major Art Changes? Let Us Know Early!

We love when clients are excited about their designs—but if you come in the day of your appointment with major last-minute changes to your tattoo concept, it can throw off the whole schedule. Tattoo design is a process, and big changes often require extra planning, drawing time, and sometimes even a full redesign.

If you spring big edits on us at the last minute, we may need to reschedule your session, and again, your deposit may be forfeited. We recommend reaching out at least a week in advance if you have significant changes to discuss. Communication is key!
