All your artist really needs is enough room around the area to have comfortable access. Comfortable for them and both physically and emotionally comfortable for you. This information may seem to be targeted to the female anatomy but it applies for anyone with a desire to maintain some coverage.
Regardless of what you wear during the tattoo please wear clothes that won’t leave distinct marks or indents in your skin. These indents can very much affect the stencil drawing process. See below for some visual information if you want to skip ahead.
We suggest non binding clothing. You may have to sit at an angle you normally don’t, pinching clothing can make that difficult. We also request nothing that may harm our furniture…hard jean buttons, wallet chains and the like can damage the furniture. Germs love to hide in holes, we don’t need those in our pleather.
Button up shirts you can turn backwards can allow access to the full back without exposure. A bikini bottom that ties can allow is to access the full side and hip (a little tape helps keep it on). Loose pants that pull up give us the leg without fear of getting cold. (you’re welcome to bring a blanket too). Strapless bras allow access to the shoulders without waiting for indentations to ease. Sticky bras can allow access to the upper side without strap marks distorting the stencil. If you have specific concerns about what will work for your tattoo ask your artist. They can let you know the specific needs for your placement and tattoo.
